- About Us
Geeta Society established in November 1998 with the high ideals of creating a global family has played a significant role in the mobilizing of our inherent spiritual intimacy centered in God.
Mankind has stemmed from one root, though it is split up into various communities and ethnic groups, it is now striving for the recovery of its basic unity and reconciliation of different cultures. Human Soul longs for spiritual intimacy, friendship and togetherness.
The most cherished dream of man, as indicated in the Holy Vedas is, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which means, "Global Family" ---Let people on earth live like citizens of one great empire under the pure guidance of Supreme Divinity, the source of all life that connects the entire creation. The ancient Vedic tradition of greeting each other with Namaste ---means the one in me salutes and bows to the one in you. It is honoring divinity in others, which promotes cosmic intimacy and brings people closer to each other in a relaxed spiritual bond.
The joy of this inner-anchorage with the Soul has been gloriously expressed by the great Hindu poet Rabindranath Tagore in Gintanjali. "Through birth and death, in this world or in others, wherever Thou leadst me, it is Thou, the same, the one companion of my endless life who ever linkest my heart with bonds of joy to the unfamiliar. When one knows Thee, then alien there is none, then no door is shut. Oh, grant me my prayer that I may never lose the bliss of Thy touch of the one in the play of many".
Over the past several years, Geeta Society's participation at the Commonwealth Club San Francisco, Parliament of World's Religions, schools, universities, churches, temples and religious conferences has been highly appreciated.
